'Lucy' gothic black and red beads
£85.00
Like droplets of blood and mirrored black water, these beads have an allure that is both gothic and contemporary. The black glass beads are all hollow for lightness and ease of wear, and measure approximately 18x22mm but vary from bead to bead. The raised dots add a bit of extra size to each bead. The black glass has a fabulous silvery finish that ranges from a matt silver to a subtle oil-on-water blend of blues and greens, and an occasional bronze glint. Combined with these black hollows are a set of richly dark red beads, also hollows and topped off with black droplets of glass. Six smaller red accent beads with black dots finish the set.
Also included is a large black bead with a 22mm inner diameter, which would make a statement on its own as a pendant or as a centrepiece for a necklace with the other beads.
The beads are made on a 3/33" mandrel (approx 2.2mm) and have been annealed and cleaned before being strung on craft wire with silver-plated beads and to add a bit of extra excitement a set of ruby-red Swarovski crystal roundels.
