'Venerable Beads' in sets of 5 (medium)
Starting at:
£5.00
It's the Middle Ages and there is a dramatic shift from the bright beads of the pre-Christian residents to the more austere approach to beads as prayerful things rather than personal adornment. Not that people didn't continue to adorn themselves but the styles of beads changes significantly from the beautifully wild and colourful beads of the Anglo-Saxons and Scandinavians to the more sombre and restrained styles used in paternosters. These particular beads are simple rounded annular beads. Other bead styles which are also suitable for paternosters or rosaries are available from the shop as we do more research on the subject.
These beads are all monochrome, matched in size and sold in sets of five or ten and measure approximately 10x15mm. Select your colour and number of beads below. The beads are temporarily strung on lengths of ultra-suede cord.
The photo is a sample display of some of the colours available, showing the three sizes available.
