Large decorative 'smoothing board' based on a find from Scar
- 'Smoothing Board' from a boat burial on Scar, in the Orkneys

Based on a whalebone board found in the Scar boat burial, dating to between 875 and 950, this version is made from 3mm Baltic birch plywood and is ideal for display.
It is laser-engraved and cut, and finished with polyurethane varnish, which gives it a water-resistant surface.
The board measures approximately 20x23 cm.
Please note this is decorative and NOT suitable as an 'ironing board'.
